W i re l e s s W o rl d Tu e s d a y, S e p te m b e r 9 , 2 0 1 4 2 8 every four mobile phones sold this year will be lost, damaged or stolen." An arti- cle on NewsUSA.com states that "more than 82.5 million smartphones nation- wide have been destroyed by water dam- age." These statistics clearly point to the need for a preemptive insurance program that not only insures the phone, but also protects it from impacts and water dam- age. Liquipel 360 is a fresh new take on device insurance that combines the Liquipel Watersafe™ technology, Liquipel SKINS™ impact screen protec- tion and bundled insurance to create the ultimate preemptive protection program for consumer smartphones and tablets. Mobile device retailers will see the true benefit of Liquipel 360 as it has been designed to increase revenue, reduce damaged device claims and increase customer satisfaction. Sales representatives can leverage Liquipel's Watersafe and nano-shock™ impact technology to upsell the consumer for a minimal monthly fee. At the same time, customers are satisfied because of the confidence they feel as their expensive new device is protected from the moment they leave the store. Liquipel 360 also reduces insur- Liquipel ( Cont'd. from p. 1) ance claims by preemptively protecting the device from damage. Fewer cus- tomer device replacements means less money spent on replacing devices that would have otherwise been saved by Liquipel 360. As an added benefit, Liquipel 360 keeps the device protect- ed, which allows for an A-stock level rating upon device resale. As an added benefit to retailers, Liquipel 360 comes with an unrivaled suite of marketing and training support directly from Liquipel. This support helps increase not just sales, but also greatly increases visibility of the Liquipel products. This increased visi- bility will help drive customers to exclusive retailers offering Liquipel 360 protection. Exciting pull-through marketing programs hosted by Liquipel will create awareness of the Liquipel products as well as increasing visibility of the brand to drive sales in-store. Liquipel will offer the retail store employee incentive programs to help get sales representatives excited about the product and increase sales. In my work with Iridium Communications Inc., I've wit- nessed satellite's continued growth as a powerful platform for bringing mobility to new parts of the world and more people in need. One such area where Iridium's solu- tions are expanding the boundaries of mobility is M2M. At CTIA booth 5930, Iridium will be showcasing how we part- Iridium Communications ( Cont'd. from p. 1) ner with cellular solutions providers to enable a truly global Internet of Things with core technologies such as chipsets and transceivers that operate using Iridium ® short-burst data and circuit- switched data. While satellite-enabled mobile com- munications have existed for decades, this year is a landmark in how the technology is being used to extend mobile connectiv- ity. In an increasingly global and connect- ed world where terrestrial cellular net- works only cover 10 to 15 percent of the Earth, satellite is still the only solution to bridge the connectivity gaps and enable people of all walks of life to experience truly ubiquitous connections. What's more is that satellite devices are no longer the domain of the world's leading explorers, travelers and business people. Through devices like the Iridium GO!™ satellite Wi-Fi personal hotspot, satellite is finding its way into the back pockets and back- packs of everyday consumers who happen to find themselves in an area not covered by cellular networks – from fly fishing expeditions to vacations aboard a cruise ship, to traveling in developing countries or even the Antarctic. Iridium GO! reflects the changing, geography-transcending lifestyles of mobile users, allowing them to easily extend the connectivity of their everyday smartphone devices and tablets no matter where they are through the use of a satellite network. Devices are only part of the story of satellite's role in the evolving mobile landscape. Networks are essential to advancing mobile satellite capabilities, and Iridium's next chapter will begin in 2015 with the first scheduled launch of the Iridium NEXT constellation. Iridium NEXT will enable higher data speeds and bandwidth, and support powerful new devices with superior voice quality and applications, all while maintaining Iridium's unique global coverage that spans from pole to pole. Iridium NEXT opens up a new world of possibilities for applications for everyday consumers, maritime, aviation, transportation, government and military, travel, heavy equipment, oil and gas and more. Additionally, Iridium NEXT will offer backwards compatibility so that users who have Iridium-connected devices today will still be able to use them when the Iridium NEXT constella- tion is fully deployed in 2017. With the flexibility of having satellite and cellular connectivity, everyday consumers, busi- ness executives and any user seeking worldwide solutions will soon be able to realize the dream of an uninterrupted mobile experience. MyMe also manufactures premium accessories for cell phones and electron- ics, and has expanded its audio range with a new line of headphones called M7. Perfectly priced, the M7 Headphones are available in several colors and will be available starting this month. The M7 headphone supports a fre- quency response of 20Hz-20000Hz. It has a 40mm speaker diameter that prom- ises high quality, powerful sound while keeping the bass level high. Offering more color options to choose from, the M7 sports a swivel folding style for con- venient storage. The M7 also comes with MyMe ( Cont'd. from p. 1) pressure relieving ear pads for prolonged usage. Lastly, the M7 earphone will allow you to listen to your favorite music, and if you are enjoying your music on your cell phone, you won't ever have to miss a call – the controls will allow you to easily switch between calls and music. MyMe M7 Headphones offers premium sound and is the first-of- its-kind product from the company at a very competitive price. The M7 audio headphones come with a flat cord that allows a tangle-free experience while on the go. According to the comScore, smart- phone penetration in the U.S. is now close to 72 percent, and expected to hit 75 per- cent by year's end. In addition, the data load on macro networks is up 50,000 per- cent since the introduction of the iPhone in June 2007, and that number will con- tinue to climb with the adoption of – and advances in – wearables, video usage and connected devices. In fact, by 2018, Cisco predicts that over two-thirds of the world's mobile data traffic will be video. This massive change in user demand for data and rich media has fueled a shift in cellular network architecture, and macro cell towers and legacy architecture can no longer meet the capacity demands. The answer? Distributed networks have the ability to help meet consumer demand for high-speed data today – extending the cellular network signal by bringing wireless service closer to the end user. While distributed networks are not new, the rapidly growing consumer demand for data resulting from shifting user behavior has resulted in capacity challenges that distributed networks, comprised of a whole continuum of smaller, lower powered devices – from small cells and DAS to Wi-Fi – are ideal- ly suited to handle. Distributed networks enable a super mobile experience for your customers that is: ExteNet Systems ( Cont'd. from p. 1) Economical: Distributed networks sprinkle a whole continuum of low-pow- ered antennas and access points, bringing a superior wireless experience to con- sumers in a more economical way; Safe and Environmentally Friendly: Distributed networks benefit municipali- ties by leveraging existing infrastructure to fill wireless coverage gaps – delivering a greener, less intrusive solution than cel- lular towers; Unobtrusive: Distributed network deployments are non-disruptive, leverag- ing existing infrastructure such as street lamps, utility poles and buildings to enhance existing wireless service from wireless carriers; Durable: The technology is scalable and resilient, making it a long-term solution to enhancing users' mobile experiences. The primary concern today revolves around the need for coverage and capacity, network performance and ultimately a superior user experience. ExteNet Systems enables advanced mobile connectivity in outdoor settings and many indoor venues including Class A, Healthcare, Sports & Entertainment and Hospitality. With 80 percent of all mobile traffic originating indoors but only two percent of buildings having indoor coverage, dis- tributed networks deliver reliable and ubiquitous mobile broadband connectivi- ty. The end result is happier and more loyal customers, which drives more usage and ultimately revenues. For more information, email inbuilding @extenetsystems.com or call 630- 505-3800.
