Frontier Soups Wows Fancy Food Attendees with West Coast Kale and Quinoa Vegetable Soup Frontier Soups' ® new West Coast Kale and Quinoa Vegetable Soup stole the show at the Summer Fancy Food Show, with attendees looking to satisfy con- sumers' growing desire for more nutri- ent-rich "superfoods" and ancient grains. While samples of a variety of soups were popular at Frontier Soups' booth, including a fancy food-style chili dog with the company's chocolate- and cinnamon-spiced Cincinnati style Chili, the new Kale and Quinoa Soup drew the lion's share of attention. "We really had a huge reaction to this soup, and I say that without exaggera- tion," said Trisha Anderson, founder of Frontier Soups. "People told us they are interested because it is on trend and is also a vegetarian soup. They liked that it is so colorful in the package with the brightness of the freeze-dried deep green kale and golden orange butternut squash layered with the ivory quinoa. Plus, it is de- licious." Also popular at Summer Fancy Food was Frontier Soups' renamed gluten- free Holiday Soup, now called Vermont Farm- house Apple Sausage & Bean Soup. According to Anderson, the soup's nu- trient-rich beans com- bined with artisan-style apple sausage and a diced tart apple was es- pecially appealing to peo- ple at the show. "Beans are gaining a new respect, because consumers see their su- perfood qualities as an ex- cellent source of protein, hunger-busting complex carbohydrates and soluble fiber along with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants," Anderson said. "They also are delighted that beans are delicious in addition to being so good for you." Frontier Soups has 34 soup mixes in its lineup to accom- modate a variety of consumer tastes. The mixes are non- GMO with no salt added and no preservatives, artificial in- gredients or MSG. The com- pany now offers 12 vegetarian options, and 28 of its soups are certified gluten-free.
