H o s p i ta l i t y & D e s i g n S h o w D a i l y 1 1 M o n d a y, J u n e 9 , 2 0 1 4 Karndean Designflooring is a global supplier of commercial and residential luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring. The company's range of tile and plank designs faithfully create the appearance of natural materials without the practi- cal drawbacks. Karndean Designflooring prides itself on being in a class of its own, with individual planks and tiles that can be laid in a variety of patterns and com- bined with unique design features to suit your look. Designflooring Karndean is designflooring. Rather than looking uniform and manufactured, each Karndean plank or tile has its own indi- vidual grain and appearance. You can create an even more individual looking floor by trying different angles or pat- terns, or choosing finishing touches such as borders or inserts to create a cus- tomized look. With its decorative strips, borders and medallions, you can create and design a floor that is unique to any personal style and space. To complement or contrast planks or tiles, these decorative strips can be used to create detailed features, like a border or a natural looking grouting effect. From adding decorative borders around furni- ture and room perimeters to arranging plank and tile in various patterns, Karndean Designflooring can accentuate any space. Karndean has a legacy of hand selecting the raw materials that inspire its products. Designflooring provides you with realistic wood and stone effects, but with none of the practical drawbacks of the materials that inspired them. Karndean Commercial The company also provides comprehen- sive support to its commercial flooring partners in specifying, supplying and fit- ting Karndean products. GROUP DEKKO CATERS TO CUSTOMER NEEDS An interview with John R. May, CEO, Group Dekko. HDSD: Tell our readers about your com- pany. JM: Founded in 1952, Group Dekko is an industry leader in the design, develop- ment and manufacture of power and elec- trical distribution systems for the con- tract office furniture and architectural lighting industries. Our products, espe- cially our new line of receptacles with USB charging ports, the Powered by Pent 2014 Collection, offer solutions for hos- pitality industry guests. Group Dekko also manufactures a variety of products for the transportation, appliance and medical markets. Headquartered in Garrett, Ind., Group Dekko, a privately held company with approximately 1,200 employees, has sev- eral facilities in the U.S., Mexico and partnerships in Asia. HDSD: What distinguishes your prod- ucts from the competition? JM: I would say our history of engineer- ing ingenuity and manufacturing excel- lence distinguishes our products from the competition, along with capacity to man- ufacture large volumes. This year, we have worked with designers to create products that our cur- rent customers are telling us that "hit the nail directly on the head" in terms of design, receptacle and mounting configu- rations, and performance, i.e., two inde- pendent 2.1 amp charging USB ports, the fastest charging rates available for tablets and phones. All models can be made in custom colors for our customer's specific office and hospitality environments. HDSD: To what do you attribute your company's success? JM: We have always worked closely with our OEM partners and end-user customers to provide engineering and manufacturing solutions to their challenges, and have established long-term supplier rela- tionships in several industries. I attribute most of our company success to adhering to our high performance quality stan- dards, engineering design and guiding values, principles that earn us customer recognition awards like the 2014 Steelcase Premier Supplier Award. HDSD: What can we expect to see in the near future from Group Dekko? JM: We have a renewed commitment to innovation with an eye on new market trends and an ear to the voice of the cus- tomer. That means we will continue to develop new products working with our current customer base and product designers, as well as looking for new partners in the U.S. and interna- tional markets. HDSD: What are your company's core strengths? JM: Some of our core strengths are our ability to closely work with our customers to co-develop prod- ucts that meet customer needs, manufac- ture products with high quality scores, and to engineer cost reductions wherever possible in the process or product. Here at Group Dekko we make everything from complicated office power distribution systems, architectural lighting to precise plastic parts for appli- ances and transportation. Our engineers get experience and exposure to cross- industry problem solving which they bring to every customer project. We also have and have always had tremendous volume production capabili- ty so we can ramp up production for large volumes. Visit Group Dekko at booth 7-3122.
