Dodoni is widely recognized around the world for its PDO feta cheese and other Greek dairy products. GN B&G Foods Announces Agreement to Acquire Specialty Brands of America B&G Foods, Inc. recently announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Specialty Brands of America, Inc. and re- lated entities from affiliates of American Capital, Ltd. and certain individuals for ap- proximately $155 million. "We are excited to have reached an agreement to acquire Specialty Brands of America," said David L. Wenner, President and Chief Executive Officer of B&G Foods. "Under the leadership of American Capital and Dom Bastien, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Specialty Brands, the company has built a solid and profitable business that continues to grow." GN Flowers Foods Licenses Wonder and Home Pride Bread Brands to Aunt Millie's Bakeries Flowers Foods, Inc. recently announced it has signed an agreement that gives Aunt Millie's Bakeries of Fort Wayne, Ind., the exclusive license to produce and market Wonder and Home Pride breads in northwestern Indiana, northern Illinois (including Chicago) and southern Wisconsin. With the agreement, Wonder and Home Pride breads will return to store shelves in the near future after being off the market in these areas since the November 2012. Flowers Foods acquired the Wonder and Home Pride brands, along with Merita and Butternut, in July 2013. In September 2013, the company reintroduced Wonder and the other brands to its direct-store-delivery market, which reaches approximately 79 percent of the U.S. population. Combines with Fyffes Plc Chiquita Brands International, Inc. and Fyffes plc recently announced that the Boards of Directors of both companies have unanimously approved a definitive agreement under which the two companies will combine. The agreement creates a global fresh produce company with approximately $4.6 billion in annual revenues. Chiquita and Fyffes plan to complete the transaction before the end of 2014. Santé Specialty Foods Expands U.S. Distribution Santé Specialty Foods recently announced an expanded agreement with Tony's Fine Foods, the largest privately owned distributor of deli, bakery, foodservice, specialty and perishable products in Northern California. Under the agreement, Tony's will now distribute all nine flavors of Santé nuts in California, Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Additionally, Santé signed with Carmela Foods, a specialty food and fine wine distributor servicing independent specialty food retailers, restaurants, country clubs, hotels and resorts throughout the state of Michigan and northern Ohio.
