A Wine Glass That Fits My Needs!" and has recently been featured on the Jay Leno show. With over 50 new items being intro- duced for the spring, there is definitely something for everyone and proves that Big Mouth Toys continues to be innova- tive in consistently bringing new items to its customers. Founder Steve Wampold's main focus is on continuing to develop new fun and unique products. A few new spring products to surely burst into the market include six new cof- fee mugs. The new hand-painted ceramic mugs show personality and are uniquely designed. The mugs include Happy Camper, Trailer Park, Crap, OY VEY, Short Bus and Management Anger. The mugs are detailed and make great gifts for co-workers, friends and relatives. Big Mouth Toys has seen much success on the oversize Donut Float, Big Mouth Toys ( Cont'd. from p. 1) which is over 4 feet wide, and has increased its pool float offering with two new products. The Ice Cream Sandwich float is over 6 feet long and has a bite taken out of it. The other new float is the Toilet float. This float looks like a toilet seat, right down to the tank as a backrest. Need to add a twist to the backyard with unique and unusual birdhouses? Look no further. Big Mouth Toys is offering five new out-of-the-ordinary birdhouses. Picture a bird peeping out of the Mooning Butt or Donut birdhouse. To keep with the toilet humor, there is the Portable Potty and Toilet birdhouses. While Fissler and Hurom are the core brands of our business, we added Curtis Stone Kitchen Solutions and Daff late last year. We just added Laurastar. KNSD: Tell us about the new brands and why you decided to take them on. FR: What many people don't know is that the Curtis Stone line isn't a license deal. It's his company and he designs the innovative products. It felt natural to join with them in helping them grow the brand because their goals meshed with ours. Daff is a line of premium German felt coasters and trivets that are stylish, high-end and filled an empty space in our portfolio. Laurastar is a different story – we have been Laurastar distributors for several years, focusing on direct sales, but this will be our first year launching it into mainstream distribution with their new Lift line. KNSD: What is the Lift line? FR: Laurastar's Lift line is the world's most advanced and fashionable portable steam generators. Laurastar has the inter- national patent on commercial-grade dry steam technology that's in a tiny compact unit for the home. It can't be compared to a steam iron at all, because all steam irons and other generators on the market utilize regular hot, wet steam. Lift is safer, quicker, easier, faster, more Roland ( Cont'd. from p. 1) portable and definitely the most stylish steam station in the world. You have to see the demo and try it for yourself at our booth to believe it. KNSD: Can you tell us about some of the other new products? FR: There are so many new introduc- tions across multiple brands. The major ones are the Hurom Elite models which significantly increase juice yield, Curtis Stone's revolutionary Stone Series cut- lery line and cutting boards and Bisbell additions which include gift sets, patent- ed knife rack accessories and magnetic knife blocks. KNSD: Which new product do you pre- dict to be the biggest or most surprising hit? FR: Based on the reactions and feedback I got in Atlanta in January, I think the most surprising hit is going to be our littlest prod- uct introductions from Goodbye Detergent. There are the BBQ Grill Scrubs, which make a great alternative to steel brushes. Then there are the cutting board refreshers, which use gentle abrasives to sand out knife marks and stains from either wood or plastic cutting boards. At $9.99 each, these little reusable guys work wonders on even the oldest boards, and every retailer with a strong cutting board business should carry these as a perfect add-on sale. Our products are lovely, hardworking, practical, durable, familiar, hygienic and affordable for cleaning, bath and kitchen essential needs. We are Fair Trade Members and a great example of full cycle sustainability. Toockies are ecofriendly and socially responsible. This year we are proud to introduce our latest Toockies product, The Apple Trivet Set. As requested from a few of our customers, we have taken the braided jute we use on our best seller this year, The Sun Trivet Set, to create this exciting new addition to our kitchen line. The Apple Trivets are stylish, durable, dish- washer safe and provide excellent protec- tion for fine furniture. Sold in a set of two with a large 13-inch and a medium 8- inch included in this item. What distinguishes our products from other similar housewares is the craftsmanship used to create time test- ed vintage designs that are made to last. These products truly benefit those who make, sell, gift and use them while reducing landfill, providing a dignified way to earn a living and give customers a dependable product. It is a win win for all! I believe the growing demand for durable and sustainable products is growing as the disposable society is switching gears. Americans are now recycling and buying organic products because they feel compelled to do Toockies ( Cont'd. from p. 1) something about the ever-expanding landfills and the harmful chemicals they are exposed to in their food and envi- ronment. The ground swell of organic, fair trade and co-op retailers are addressing this demand online and in B&Bs across the western world. These customers are not only vegans or the health-conscious among us, but a vari- ety of people across many demograph- ics who have overcome the old biases associated with these products. They are affluent, parents and working-class singles, both male and female, who make a difference in their own lives with every purchase. Those who are willing to buy less at a great price because they see real value in products that are made to last from materials they know will not hurt them or the ones they love. These customers want to know that the products they are buying were not produced in sweatshops or massive factories that may have taken shortcuts with regard to their safety. We started with no financing and very little expertise, and have doubled our sales every year for the past four years and continue to grow. This year we have partnered with Down To Earth Distributors to better support our retailers and expand our customer base in our effort to address the growing demand for our type of products. INNOVATIVE NEW PRODUCTS FOR KITCHEN NEEDS Gigogne Mug and Saucer from Duralex The new Gigogne Mug and Saucer from Duralex is the clear choice for serving cof- fee, tea and espresso. The Gigogne mug and saucer are made of an extremely high- quality, tempered glass that remains clear and scratch-free, even with heavy use. These mugs and saucers feature a mini- mal, classic aesthetic. Four times stronger than other glass mugs and saucers, the Gigogne mugs are designed for residential and commercial use. The design creates a stylish, understated look that comple- ments any tabletop. Made in France. Duralex has been manufacturing drinking glasses in France for more than 80 years and was the inventor of tempered glass. Emile Henry Unveils the Baguette Baker The new ceramic Baguette Baker from Emile Henry bakes three, 13½-inch long by 2¼-inch wide artisanal French baguettes. The Baguette Baker traps steam from the baking bread to create an environment similar to a steam-injected oven. The steam gives the bread a crunchy, golden crust and a chewy interi- or. The Baguette Baker simplifies the process, so home bakers have more con- sistent, delicious results every time they make bread. A recipe book is included with the product, so even a novice baker will be confident in baking bread at home. The Baker, made in France from Burgundy clay, retails for $130. Rösle Creates Collection of Kitchen Dispensers Rösle presents a collection of five glass and stainless steel kitchen dispensers: an oil dispenser, a vinegar dispenser, a spice jar, a spice mill and a spice shaker. Each of the items in the collec- tion feature an ergonomic design that is easy to hold, fill and clean. The lids thread tightly onto the glass bases, preventing any drips. The Vinegar Sprayer and Oil Dispenser are designed to add a fine spray of vinegar or exact quantities of oil to foods. The sprayer limits the over-dressing of salads and other foods. The mill features a ceramic grinder mechanism. Chocolate Fondue from Lékué Lékué presents the Chocolate Fondue, a fondue pot that makes and serves three flavors of fondue in about four minutes. The microwaveable Bain Marie base melts chocolate gently so it doesn't burn, and the chocolate stays melted for over an hour. The source of heat is the water in the base, not a flame as is typical of stan- dard fondue pots, making this fondue pot safer. Serving fondue in this colorful, easy-to-clean, silicone fondue pot makes for an instant party. The recipes for chocolate fondue can be customized with candies, extracts, caramels and other fla- vorings. Retails for $30. Mauviel Cooks Up New Shapes and Sizes in M'steel Collection Mauviel expands its M'steel collection with six new cookware items made of black steel.
