It has a long and rich history, referenced in Egyptian mythology as the tree of life. Today, aca- cia wood is highly prized because of its durability, lustrous finish, high gloss and varied shades. It is used to produce luxu- ry cabinetry, furniture, flooring, musical instruments and even boats. Libbey Glass is pleased to marry the beauty of acacia wood with the clarity of glass to create a stunning serveware line. Acacia wood by itself is beautiful, but when combined with glass, the natural beauty is enhanced, as the natural wood grain is highlighted and even magnified. The Acaciawood Serveware line fea- tures pieces designed for buffet-style serving as well as smaller pieces for smaller gather- ings at home. The packag- ing features rich, full-color photography that highlights the inherent beauty of the product. Visit Libbey Glass at booth S1020. CULVER OFFERS INNOVATIVE PRINTING OPPORTUNITIES Culver Industries is introducing a new decorating technology which is revolu- tionizing the home and housewares mar- ket: Jet-Directt™. Jet-Directt's digital four-color process allows for vibrant, jaw-dropping and eye-catching color on a variety of substrates. If that wasn't enough, Jet-Directt incorporates Variable Data Printing (VDP) into it's repertoire of capabilities. Variable Data Printing is a form of customizable digital printing. Using information from a database or external file, text and graphics can be changed on each piece without stopping or slowing down the press. Culver's ability to meld VDP into its processes allows for person- alized cities, states and even names. The retail mantra of "location, loca- tion, location," takes on a whole new meaning. With this new technology, Culver is able to print in places never seen or easily utilized before. On stemware, Culver can decorate on the underside of the foot, opening up a world of color, design and style possi- bilities. This elegant and non-intrusive style of decoration simultaneously "brands" the product with a motif, while leaving the bowl uninterrupted for addi- tional decoration. Flat lids and tops, whether acrylic tumblers and water bottles or glass candy and apothecary jars, are an ideal medium for this imprinting process. Instead of cheap stickers or expensive mold charges, Culver's Jet-Directt prints directly onto the lid seamlessly for a strikingly crisp reproduction. Acrylic tumbler and water bottle lids offer yet another location for brand reinforcement or brand tie-in graphics. Barware, such as shooters, shots, pints, DOFs, coolers and the like also offer an additional branding and design opportunity. Where conventional wis- dom evokes a design on the sidewall, Culver Industries embraced innovation, looked to the sham and threw conven- tional wisdom on its ear. They believe the sham offers a singularly unique location which is at the same time fun and rele- vant. To further its edge, Culver offers the double sham imprint: two different decorations simultaneously on the sham. As you look down through the glass, one design is visible. From the outside, a dif- ferent design is visible. From VDP to acrylic to glass, from barware to stemware, Jet-Directt by Culver combines vivid color with innovation. Visit Culver at booth S113.
