Founded in 1974, with headquarters in northern Italy, LAICA is recognized as a leader in home medical appliances and well-being prod- ucts such as personal body composition, scales and blood pressure monitors, ther- mometers and a foremost innovator in water filtration. Our primary focus today is internationalization and we are truly excited about our American launch. KNSD: What would you say makes your company unique? MM: At LAICA, our differentiation is our commitment to quality. Specifically, superior quality and innovation solutions to help improve customer's lives as well as the continued commitment to our part- ners to deliver better services, flexibility, reliability and new opportunities have all contributed to LAICA's success. Beyond the design and technologically advanced products, LAICA is also committed to a business that gives value to environmen- tal sustainability, human rights and the quality of life. KNSD: Where is your current product emphasis? MM: LAICA is recognized as the leader in water filtration in Italy and that is at the core of our business focus. We have embraced a 360 degree investment pro- gram that includes research and develop- ment, marketing as well as patent appli- cations and worldwide certifications. LAICA has developed scientific collabo- ration (University of Padua and Milan) and has dedicated significant investments in international studies to continue to improve performance in water filtration system. KNSD: Are you introducing any new LAICA (Con't. from p. 1) products at the International Home + Housewares Show? MM: LAICA is participating at the Chicago International Home + Housewares Show for the first time and we are excited to be introducing our new line of color water filter pitchers in limit- ed edition. This edition was successfully launched in Italy last year with great con- sumer acceptance. Our American launch will be comprised of the five most popu- lar colored finishes and includes a mod- ern design that makes LAICA jugs suit- able for those that love unique style and innovation. KNSD: What distinguishes your product from the competition? MM: Asthetically, it is our Italian style and ergonomics that sets us apart from our competition but the heart of the prod- uct is the filter, the bi-flux™ filter is unique because it reduces impurities while maintaining a healthy mineral presence in the water, resulting in improved taste and smell of the water. Balanced minerals present in water are essential for human health (stated by the World Health Organization). We care to respect the best in drinking water. KNSD: Who is your target focus? MM: Our focus is a clearly defined con- sumer target group, to whom we believe we offer a better option than traditional water filters, and secondly essential for our trade partners we deliver the most flexible and innovative solutions to drive POS. ORGANIZING IS BEAUTIFUL WITH NEATFREAK, THE HOME ORGANIZATION COMPANY Style, in addition to functionality, has become more important as the fashion industry influences home décor. Interior design is closely tied to the fashion industry and mirrors its patterns and col- ors. Aesthetics has become an increasing- ly important factor as consumers are becoming more interested in displaying their organization items and not having them behind closed doors. This direction and insight is what drove neatfreak® to launch a beautiful, modern, functional, yet sophisticated col- lection—The Uptown™ collection by neatfreak! Designed using a combination of chic black fabric and polished industrial chrome, the Uptown collection makes any room stand up and notice. Five pieces make up the collection. The wardrobe provides more than ample storage with customizable sliding curtains. The curtains secure with velcro and can be switched out to add your own fabric to match the rest of your décor. The new innovative 6 Drawer Dressing Chest hangs pants and shirts while its six drawers hold clothing and other accessories. It's an all-in-one closet and dresser! The 12 Compartment Cube Organizer provides the multi- functional advantage of storing objects from shoes to magazines for your hallway or office.
