Company commemorating milestone with a look back at "50 years of faith, family and friendship." Abbey Press, a wholesale marketer of inspirational and religious products, will mark its 50th anniversary in 2014. The anniversary theme, "50 years of faith, fami- ly and friendship," speaks to Abbey Press' origins. Already a successful commercial printing company, Abbey Press took small steps into the catalog business in the early 1960s. Then printing manager, Br. Maurus Zoeller, OSB, was looking for a new way to share the word of God with friends and family. He discovered it in the form of holy cards and note cards, which he sold through a small brochure he developed and distributed. One of only two Catholic exhibitors at that year's show, the company was introduced to a new market and experienced impressive sales. The exposure led to a demand for new types of products and the need for a prod- uct development department, which Zoeller established in 1968. Building on the suc- cess of cards, prints and other paper products, the company turned its attention to dimensional items.
