OSD: Do you think pens are still relevant in the age of technology? JZ: NASA still sends a Fisher Space Pen on every manned mission to the moon— that is a pretty good endorsement as well as an indicator for me that physical writ- ing is important. OSD: Okay, but how about we stick to earth for now. JZ: There is no better way to standout boldly in a boardroom meeting. OSD: Boldly? How so? JZ: Unlike technology, the pen has no spell check, grammar correction or font limitations to choose from. Properly wielded, a pen becomes a hypnotic tool of distraction which can easily work in your favor. OSD: But, wouldn't pens be considered old-fashioned amongst all the smart phone and laptop users? JZ: Leaders let assistants hide behind technology. They prefer to be seen as contemplative, relaxed and in possession of the most important thing in the JAC ZAGOORY DESIGNS: ORIGINAL, THOUGHT-PROVOKING WRITING INSTRUMENTS & PEWTER DESK ACCESSORIES Nepali by TDM's Michelle Baldwin, has a mission to save the world one accessory at a time. On a trip to Nepal, the entre- preneur, who previously built multiple businesses including one in textiles, became enamored with the diamond- fiber cashmere from the underbelly of the Capra hircus goat. Not only did she find the fabric beautiful, soft and light to the touch, she also saw an opportunity to greatly improve the working conditions of the local women who weave the fab- ric. Michelle sought to help end the cycle of poverty in the area by employing as many women as possible and empower- ing them by giving them the opportunity NEPALI BY TDM DESIGN, INC.: WEAVING THE FABRIC OF SOCIETY Michelle's unique spiral silver design, unlike any other brand on the market. Nepali by TDM jewelry utilizes sterling silver and semi-precious stones in an eco- friendly manner similar to the scarves. Each piece of jewelry is beautifully hand- made by master silversmiths using to earn a substantial income. Drawing inspiration from the hand-skilled crafts- manship of weavers in Nepal, Michelle started Nepali by TDM in 2007 in an effort to give back to the women of Nepal, who inspired her so much, and to bring their beautiful fabrications from Nepal to the Western world. Michelle strongly believes in an environmentally friendly lifestyle and her company relies on only eco-con- scious means of producing scarves and jewelry.
