This luminaire sets a new standard with its revolutionary design, optimized radia- tion pattern, and slim profile. Progressive Down Light 2 (PDL 2) directs light to the dispensers with a smooth transition away from the canopy. The Progressive reflector focuses light on task areas while softly illuminating the peripheral area for increased safety and security. The light is designed to be easy to install and does not require site surveys or additional mounting equipment. A universal hanger cable facilitates simple one-person installation for lower up- front investment. A shoebox (2-foot-by- 2-foot) plate which mounts directly to or hides the footprint of the previous HID fixture is also available. This eliminates the need to touch-up, paint, or install custom trims. An optional glare bar can be attached under the lens to direct light toward street traffic. PDL 2 maintains the highest ingress protection rating for dust and water – IP68. This makes for a great, reliable solution, even in car wash- es! Start saving up to 78 percent energy cost compared with typical HID fixtures. About SloanLED The SloanLED Company was founded in 1957 to design and develop high-reliabil- ity lighting products. Duke and Son, LLC (Duke), introduced to the U.S. frozen dessert industry, Genni™, the first soft serve frozen dessert quality management smartphone app. Genni mobilizes the Company's newly released Virtual Quality Management System™ (VQM) in its Genesis Series™ Soft Serve Freezer line. "We want to give operators the abil- ity to better manage their soft serve assets from across the store, or any- where in the world where they can use their phone or tablet," said Tom Hotard, President. "We are providing real-time, pertinent information to manage busi- ness right now via cellular technology, the most secure method." Genni, the app, premiered with the new Genesis Series SLX400 and SLX500 soft serve freezers featuring VQM at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show in Chicago Ill. in May. "This is cutting-edge innovation, engineering and product development to revolutionize the role of equipment in foodservice management," continued Hotard. "We are the only U.S. frozen dessert equipment manufacturer offering an application like this." Electro Freeze's new Virtual Quality Management System gives operators the option to make product quality adjustments, track product vol- ume dispensed and clean-cycle indica- tions, as well as set alerts and security settings. The VQM system gathers soft serve equipment data in real time and provides statistical reports on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. "The technology using the Genni app can communicate via cell, wi-fi or Ethernet services," Hotard stated. "The VQM system also allows remote diag- nostic access for Electro Freeze's nation- wide service teams." The Genni app and VQM are available options on the new Genesis Series SLX400 and SLX500 soft serve freezers. "The VQM touch pad on the SLX400 and SLX500 freezers is intuitive and the primary machine functions are single- button activated," said Penny Klingler, Vice President of Sales. "This means operators don't need to scroll through multiple screens to quickly oper- ate the machine. Our emphasis has always been on product quality and mak- ing operations more efficient for our cus- tomers. This system is crew-friendly and the data is easy for management to access and use." Klingler continued, "The Genesis Series and Genni interested Ryan's ® Restaurants because they focus on pro- viding quality product to their cus- tomers." Ryan's is part of Buffets, Inc., the nation's largest steak-buffet restau- rant company, which currently operates 347 restaurants in 35 states. "The man- agement at Ryan's, one of our first Genesis Series and Genni customers, notes that Genni will give them the visi- bility they need to better track operations and product quality of their soft serve business." "The VQM system provides the ultimate in product quality by utilizing our Adaptive Temperature Sensing (ATS), the next step in temperature con- trol (patent pending)," stated Kyle Elsom, VP Engineering. "This, in con- junction with scroll compressor tech- nology, gives customers the flexibility to dispense a variety of product types at the highest level of quality. You truly can taste this difference! For more information, visit booth 5831 or go online to www.electrofreeze.com. LIGHT UP YOUR C-STORE WITH REVOLUTIONARY NEW TECHNOLOGY FROM D&P CUSTOM LIGHTS By Ashley Darnell, Marketing, D&P Custom Lights & Wiring Systems, Inc. illumiLED™ LED-lit interior signs are an excellent product for convenience stores interested in energy savings and new edge-lit LED technology. D&P Custom Lights & Wiring Systems will be showcasing a number of unique newly- designed cost-efficient LED-lit interior signage in Booth 533 at NACS. Using state-of-the-art LED and new construction methods, illumiLED signs have a very thin 1/2-inch profile which can be designed for above-cooler sig- nage, aisle markers, department signs, promotional signs and on-shelf point-of- purchase displays (POP). The signs are extremely bright over the entire surface. They are available in either single or dou- ble-sided versions; each side can have a different custom image. Some other features of illumiLED include: American-made LED circuit boards, brightness levels starting at 300 foot candles, optional additional layers for eye-popping 3D images, a wide range of materials including laminate, Sintra and metal, and multiple mounting options including standard wall mount, side wall mount, and ceiling mount. illumiLED lit signs also have all of the bene- fits of LED lighting, and offer 50,000 hours of use (around 5 1/2 years under normal conditions). They use 1/3rd to 130th of the energy of incandescent or CFL lights, respectively. Their long life, durability, high-efficiency and reduced maintenance needs make them a cost-effective choice, with energy savings of more than 80 percent easily attainable. Additional energy savings result from the lack of heat build-up with LEDs. illumiLED signs are available in var- ious shapes, sizes, colors and configura- tions to suit any need. Using the latest design hardware and software, D&P's staff of graphic designers works together with you to develop the best customized option to reflect your brand and store.
