R e s t a u r a n t D a i l y N e w s Tu e s d a y, M a y 2 1 , 2 0 1 3 3 8 HOSPITALITY MINTS VIDEO SHOWCASES THE POWER OF BRANDED CANDY Operators who are looking for a tasteful and tasty way of showcasing their restau- rant's latest initiatives are finding wrapped, branded buttermints to be a valuable choice. Hospitality Mints, America's leading signature buttermint company in foodservice, has created a video that makes it easy to see the bene- fits of an after-dinner mint. "This video is a way of helping our customers know and understand the mar- keting power of a simple branded mint," said Kathi Guy, Vice President of Marketing for Hospitality Mints. "A recent survey we conducted shows 90 percent of consumers would notice a branded mint and it would leave them with a stronger and more positive impres- sion of the establishment. We also found that 74 percent of consumers are pleas- antly surprised and feel appreciated when they are presented with a branded wrapped mint." Guy said when a foodservice order is placed for branded mints, customers can get up to four different wrappers per a case. Restaurants can personalize mints with not only the name or logo of the establishment, but also messages to find them on Facebook, go to the website for coupons, or to support a new business initiative like catering. The video also gives a behind-the- scenes look at the candy factory, located in the mountains of Boone, N.C. The company's original owner learned the art of candy making from a local couple who made their mints in a kettle pot and then kneaded the candy on marble slabs. The modern company has taken those same techniques and created automated sys- tems to create the best-tasting mints. Hospitality Mints produces four million hard and soft candies a day in 15 taste- tempting varieties. "Our sales team, distributors and bro- kers have embraced the video," Guy said. "It's a valuable tool to use when calling on restaurant operators, as it gives a quick snapshot of who we are and how they can use our mints to market their business." Hospitality Mints has plans to expand its video library with testimonials from current operators who have seen success by using branded mints. Hearth- baked in stone ovens, Campione breads bring a delicate crispy crust with a taste and texture crafted from generations of baking heritage. As an Italian immigrant, Joseph Campione used only the finest, freshest ingredients and baked with pride. The company was established in 1960. Family members continue the tradition today, offering the same consistent, supe- rior homemade taste in its endless vari- eties of frozen garlic breads, cheese breads, Texas toast, bread sticks/stuffed sticks and specialty breads. Each product is carefully coated with one of many per- fect blends of creamy, buttery toppings and robust garlic combinations, then carefully dressed with a variety of fresh- chopped herbs. Joseph Campione garlic breads prod- ucts can be found in supermarket frozen- food sections throughout the United States. If not their brand, in many cases, it's being carried under the store brand through Campione's private-label division. Joseph Campione offers a com- plete foodservice division. It's made by starting with the No. 1 sell- ing item in the section, Texas Toast, and topping with a custom Italian pizza sauce, IQF pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions and spices, then topped with real mozzarella cheese. Stuffed bread sticks―stuffed with 100 percent real Mozzarella cheese then smothered with a garlic margarine spread―is a yummy snack for kids and adults. On the sweet side, they have the new diced apples or strawberry and cream cheese-stuffed cinnamon sticks―a healthier alternative to a doughnut. It's great for morning break- fast, afternoon break or dessert. The aroma of the cinnamon will make the crowd come pouring in. Ciabatta Bruschetta, or Bruschetta Toast, is coated with a rich tasting buttery spread, fresh- crushed garlic, extra virgin olive oil, fresh spices, then topped with five fla- vorful Italian cheeses: Mozzarella, Provolone, Parmesan, Romano and Asiago.
