GET THE MOST OUT OF CLASSROOM MOBILE DEVICES WITH MIMIOMOBILE The MimioMobile application is the lat- est addition to the MimioClassroom fam- ily of products. MimioMobile allows for classroom interaction with Apple and Android devices. The MimioMobile application can be used in multiple ways. Teachers can use MimioMobile to control their desk- top from their mobile device, share con- trol of the desktop with student devices, turn student devices into student response pads and create a collaborative learning environment in the classroom. MimioMobile allows teachers to send an activity from MimioStudio to up to nine different student devices. These students can then work simultaneously on the MimioStudio activity as the teacher or the entire class watches their progress. The student work can then be saved onto the teacher's computer. "The way the MimioMobile app pushes activities out to student tablets is a really exciting feature," Doug Pennekamp, CEO of Education 2000, said. "Teachers can send an interactive work page to students on their mobile devices and the teacher can monitor the work of each student." Student devices can also be used for assessments with MimioMobile. Students can respond to multiple-choice questions, numeric, short-answer and short-essay questions. The teacher receives the student responses and feedback immediately. "There in no longer a need for the classroom sets of student response pads that many schools have used in the past," Pennekamp said. "The mobile devices that students most likely already have can be used in replace of those classroom sets with MimioMobile." The MimioMobile application also allows the teacher to control the comput- er desktop from anywhere in the class- room. The teacher can then pass control of the desktop to any student that is logged in to the class. "The teacher can choose what stu- dent they want to respond and send the computer screen to that student's device without the student even getting out of their seat," Pennekamp said. "The MimioMobile app allows for stu- dent tablets and phones to be used in multiple ways that makes learn- ing and classroom participation fun." To use MimioMobile, teachers link the MimioMobile application downloaded on the mobile devices to the MimioStudio classroom software on the teacher computer. Current Mimio users can use MimioMobile for a free 30-day trial period. MimioMobile currently works with iPads, iPhones, iPod Touch and Android devices 3.0 with Honeycomb or higher. MimioMobile will also work with the MimioPad 2 wireless pen tablet and the MimioVote assessment system. Visit booth 623 for more information, or go online at www.edu2000plus.com.
