10 Th u rsd a y, Fe b ru a ry 6 , 2 0 1 4 THE JON-E-VAC CENTRAL TOILET VENTILATING SYSTEM FOR PLUMBING WALLS FOR EXISTING OR NEW CONSTRUCTION JON-E-VAC®'S innovative Toilet Ventilating System for Plumbing Walls is the answer for commercial buildings that have access to their restrooms via plumbing walls. This can be installed whether they are in existing bathrooms or for new construction. Just like the Central System, there is no fan housing visible from inside the restroom, only the hoses leading from the toilet into the wall behind the toilet. All the filter housings and fans are on the plumbing wall side. The concept for this system is the ease with which it can be installed in existing restrooms or new construction. Just like the Central System for new construction, there is a complete kit available which consists of the necessary fan, isolation reducer with clamps and a ball valve. The system comes with a complete set of instructions and the engineering department will assist in working out the specifics as to the size of fan needed and any other logistics. When filter cartridges and hoses need to be changed, the Plumbing Wall System allows the maintenance staff easy access without too many man hours being wasted, which is always an essential consideration. The special cartridge filters should be changed approximately every 12 months to ensure that the restroom stays a healthy environment for anyone who uses it. Even though one may think the SOLID SURFACING GAINS GROUND ON GRANITE Watch your back, granite. Solid surfacing is gaining ground as a competitive alternative. In fact, the 2013 National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Style Report noted: ". . . identified as a key trend in 2012, the popularity of solid surfaces in kitchens continues to rise, growing from 11 percent in 2010 to 35 percent in 2013." So why are homeowners gravitating toward solid surfacing? Solid Surfacing is a Sound Investment According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the median American home value is $174,600. Solid surfacing is on average $42 sq. ft. installed compared to approximately $60 sq. ft. on average for granite. Since the average kitchen includes about 300 sq. ft. of counter space, installing granite in a home valued less than $200,000 may result in little or no return on investment. Granite has been endorsed for its resale attractiveness, but in these economic times, homeowners who remodel remain very conscious to recoup every penny. Solid Surfacing Performs for the Long Haul Formica® Solid Surfacing is a nonporous and inherently anti-microbial material that provides a seamless and low-maintenance countertop. The material rates well for both stain and heat resistance, and isn't at risk for chipping or cracking. Completely renewable, the occasional scratch can be easily buffed out. Solid surfacing requires no additional lifecycle cost for annual sealing or upkeep. Granite can withstand heavy use and resist stains when properly sealed. It also can endure heat, abrasions, impacts and the effects of a sharp knife. However, granite is a porous surface QUALITY COMMITTED, TIMELY DELIVERED, ENVIRONMENTALLY DRIVEN Elias Woodwork is quality committed to the core. While the frames C o n stru c tio n Ma rke tp la c e air is clean because the odor keeps being drawn out, the cartridges have to be changed regularly to take care of the bacteria content. There will also be a saving of commercial deodorizers, which only mask odors and most of the time do not have a pleasant aroma and are not always the healthiest thing to breathe in. It is of extreme importance for the public's health to reduce the spread of bacteria, especially when people from everywhere converge in different public restrooms and bacteria is rampant and detrimental to everyone's health. A leading Canadian supplier of medical air respiratory Systems in conjunction with some major hospitals and a leading university is testing the JON-EVAC Systems to incorporate them into usage in medical premises, due to the large problems with infectious diseases stemming from toilets. After looking at many different systems, that, when not properly sealed and polished, can become riddled with minute holes that can breed bacteria and mildew. To maintain its durable qualities, granite requires annual sealing. The material is not renewable and cannot be repaired if chipped. Solid Surfacing Offers Design Freedom Although granite can be shaped or carved, homeowners will still need to contend with seams. In contrast, solid surfacing provides endless design opportunities – all without a seam in sight. A professional fabricator can shape, sculpt, engrave, sandblast, backlight and rout any solid surface sheet, as well as incorporate unique edge treatments and inlays and a fully integrated sink. Class 1 Inc., the company in question, contacted JON-E-VAC, as its systems are the only ones that take care of the removal of odor and bacteria simultaneously. The Plumbing Wall System comes supplied with the same type and style of toilet seats as the Central System or the Retrofit System. They all fit standard toilets and are made of heavy duty polypropylene plastic and stainless steel components and contain an antimicrobial agent. The System has been tested by an independent laboratory and traps/kills bacteria that is removed directly from the toilet bowl. For example, e Series Solid Surfacing by Formica Group is the first major-branded solid surfacing to contain postconsumer recycled content (each sheet contains approximately 1,000 recycled Styrofoam cups). As the popularity of solid surfacing continues to grow, manufacturers are investing in fresh new patterns that fit traditional and contemporary interiors alike. Formica Group recently expanded its Formica Solid Surfacing line by adding 13 new quartz-like, sparkle and soft stone patterns. It's easier than ever for homeowners to find a look they love that also meets the demand of everyday living. Solid Surfacing Provides Sustainable Options When it comes to granite, the grass is a bit greener on the solid surfacing side.
