To support customer demand in new and existing high power markets, IW is pleased to announce the introduction of 7506. With an outer diameter of 0.780 inches, its newest 50Ω cable provides a flexible alternative to similar line size cables with the advantages of stranded center conductor, laminated, EPTFE dielectric and Santoprene outer jacket to provide excellent attenuation and phase stability with flex- ure, and over temperature. Interconnect options include 1 5/8 EIA flange and 7/16 connectors. Solder clamp termina- tion style is used for all connector types to ensure optimum performance at high power levels. 1 5/8 and 7/8 EIA flange designs are also available for use with its established 4806 cable. With proven power handling of 17KW at 13.56MHz, 3KW at 1GHz and a range of interconnect options available, 4806 is an increasingly popular selection for broadcast transmission systems. Insulated Wire, Inc. Offers Unprecedented Reliability An interview with Will Steven, Product Manager for the Music/Pro AV division at SKB Cases. BSD: What are some trends you're seeing in rack gear for the broad- casting industry? WS: Overall, we've seen a lot of rack equipment becoming smaller and lighter in weight, with more features being packed into a smaller form factor to create all-in-one solutions. However, this smaller gear doesn't fit as nicely into traditional shock racks, making it more difficult to travel with. BSD: How is SKB Cases addressing these needs? WS: We're actively working to develop lightweight, protective solutions with smaller footprints that are travel friendly. Many of these solutions, like our iSeries Fly Racks, 5G is the fifth-generation wireless technology for digital cellu- lar networks. Over the last few years, it has been a topic of global conversation. To put it plainly, a mitigation solution must be in place prior to the 5G launch or disruption will occur. Satellite operators are in line to be affected most. In almost every case, these operators will be required to invest in new equipment in order to avoid disruption of services. Regardless of their global location, satellite operators are having to react. That means coordinating with consultants, integrators, installers and manufacturers in what is becoming a very crowd- ed space. Filter manufacturers like Microwave Filter Company in East Syracuse, New York, have deployed many 5G mitigation solutions. Many of these filter solutions are custom designed to meet the specification of each geographic location.
