Not only is our company celebrating 100 years of Two Rivers, Wisconsin-based manufac- turing, specializing in metal stamping, plastic injection molding and rotational molding, we're making a lot of optimizations and inno- vations to ensure we're keeping up with the times, while allowing us to have shorter lead times on many goods. A job that used to take three people to do and had a high rate of repetitive motion injuries, is now done by these robots, run by one operator with a much lower risk of injury. Similarly, in our plastic injection molding area where we make our food dehydrator trays and accessories and assemble the finished goods, the use of robotics to remove parts from the machine frees operators' time during the cycle to package our dehydrators and accessories, and pallet them for distribution. This led to a much higher retention rate of employees, as it's more stimulating than standing and waiting for parts to finish. These automations have created such a positive working environment for our employees that in July of 2019, they voted to dis- mantle their own union, giving Metal Ware more options in cross-training between departments so we can easily move employees depending on labor demand. What all of this means for our customers is that they get products craft- ed by dedicated, knowledgeable employ- ees leading to high quality products at competitive costing – which gives us an advantage over competitors who are often struggling to work around the tar- iffs and shaky political climate. Furthermore, our domestic produc- tion has allowed Metal Ware to react to changes in demand much faster than many other companies. If one of our cus- tomers needs a product on a tight time- line, we're able to fulfill orders on a shorter lead time without having to work with overseas teams, transport goods and clear them in customs. These shorter lead times also give us more flexibility in orders and goods.
