Launched in January 2020, the decadent PROTEIN DIPPPERS became a reality when the folks at Shrewd Food saw that there was a void in the market for great tasting, high protein chocolate snacks. Michael Goldstein, one of the company's co-Founders and Shrewd Innovator explains, "Deciding to cover our Protein Puffs with chocolate was easy ... finding the best tasting chocolate to use was the hard part. We didn't want to sac- rifice anything just to say it was healthy." The Shrewd Food team rigorously tested and found the ideal chocolate to make the product a perfect combination of healthy protein and yummy candy! They're offered in two mouth-watering flavors, Milk and Dark Chocolate, and have only 160 and 150 calories, respectively. Each 1.16-ounce bag of PROTEIN DIPPERS has an impressive 10 grams of protein per serving, and con- tains no egg, peanuts, tree nuts, corn syrup, artificial flavors or preservatives. Chocolate lovers around the world can now relax that their favorite candy won't tip their scales. Snak King (Cont'd. from p. 1) spoken, most people think of marijuana. Maybe it's because hemp and marijuana both come from the same botanical family, 'cannabis.' Within the legal community, a definition has been created for the difference between marijuana and hemp, and it's revolv- ing around the THC content. More specifi- cally, it's the delta-9-tetrahydrocannbinol content. To be considered hemp, cannabis needs to have a THC level of less than 0.3 percent. Hemp extract, which contains all of the elements found in hemp, including CBD, has many healthy, natural benefits. GN: What does hemp extract, or CBD oil, do? What is its potential? JM: There is a recently discovered system inside your body called the Endocannabi- noid System (ECS), considered by many in the scientific community as one of the most amazing discoveries of our time. It has a self-regulating system whose primary goal is to restore and maintain a sense of home- ostasis or balance. Supporting the ECS can have an unbelievable number of potential outcomes for a person. I believe that it is crucial that we do a great deal more re- search so that we can more properly define what it does, what is the optimal potency, and what are the right formulations to sup- port the ECS properly. GN: What are the benefits of hemp, or CBD for the Endocannabinoid System? JM: It's not uncommon to find some com- panies making claims that basically look as though taking an oil with CBD and other cannabinoids can treat almost any disease. That is irresponsible and illegal, according to the FDA. There are rules against making such claims, and any company making these claims: they do not have the research to sup- port them, and even if they did, it is not legal or permissible. GN: Why is HempFusion™ different? JM: The name HempFusion means that we take hemp and fuse it together with other things for comprehensive support. The crucial and most important difference is the philoso- phy that we go by. We don't believe that CBD is the only thing needed. We don't believe that CBD is this singular magic bullet that needs to be extracted at such high percentages from the hemp plant or that you should be con- cerned only with how many milligrams of CBD you consume. In fact, we don't believe that more is better, and do believe that starting slow is more advisable. Everyone potentially may need a different number of milligrams to support their own body and ECS. One of my favorite phrases is, 'Let food be thy medicine,' by Hippocrates. The idea that food is what is best for us is so crucially important to embrace. We at HempFusion believe in a whole food perspective. For more information, go to www .hempfusion.com.
