NATURALLY HEALTHY www.gourmetnews.com n MARCH 2019 n GOURMET NEWS N H 1 6 Alpha Packaging Introduces PET Jars for Cannabis, CBD Products By Marny Bielefeldt, Vice President of Mar- keting, Alpha Packaging Alpha Packaging is excited to introduce a new line of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic jars for adult-use cannabis and CBD products. Our proprietary line of PET jars features a sleek, wider profile than our traditional plastic jars. The result is a jar line that mates flush with child-re- sistant closures (CRCs) and eliminates the unattractive "overhang" that CRC closures have when paired with traditional-width jars. These 4-ounce, 6-ounce and 8-ounce PET jars all feature a special 70mm neck finish that accommodates both 70mm child-resis- tant and traditional continuous-thread clo- sures. Jars in this new line: meet CPSC require- ments for child resistant packaging; can be blow molded in clear, transparent or opaque colors; are currently stocked in white and black in our West Coast warehouse; can be run in post-consumer (recycled) PET; and feature deco lugs on the base so they can be easily screen printed or labeled with pres- sure-sensitive labels. In addition to this new PET jar line, Alpha manufactures and stocks a line of high-den- sity polyethylene (HDPE) jars in our West Coast Ware- house. The 2-ounce, 4- ounce and 8-ounce HDPE jars are stocked in black and white, and available by the case. They also mate flush with push-to-turn CRC closures for an attrac- tive total package. Both jar lines are suitable for any prod- uct that requires child-resistant packaging, including medical and recreational cannabis products in flower, edibles, con- centrates and topicals. In addition to jars, we offer packaging for liquids, tablet and capsules ranging in size from 1 ounce to 32 ounces. As a respected manufacturer of plastic packaging for the phar- maceutical, nutritional and food industries, Alpha brings unmatched expertise, influence and passion to the fast- changing cannabis indus- try. We follow the impact of new laws and regula- tions for cannabis packaging in the U.S. and Canada as they evolve. Alpha has manufac- turing sites in the United States, Canada and Europe. We stand behind our commitment to exceed the expectations of our customers, providing only the highest quality products. Visit Alpha Packaging at booth #4557.
