GOURMET NEWS www.gourmetnews.com n JANUARY 2019 n GOURMET NEWS 4 4 Ariston's 4-Leaf Organic & Infused Balsamic Vinegars The new Ariston line of organic balsamic vinegars are characterized by a perfect bal- ance between sweet and sour. This product is made exclusively with GMO free and or- ganically farmed grapes, without pesticides involved. The entire production process is certified in order to guarantee consumers the compliance with highest organic farming standards, guaranteed by the CCPB certify- ing body. The grape must, cooked over a direct heat in an open vessel, simmers slowly and is concentrated until it is reduced to about one third of its original volume. It is then placed in the attic, in a series of casks of oak wood. Here the balsamic vinegar passes the years acidifying, aging until it has reached a bal- ance that only the alchemy of time can mas- ter, prodded along by the masterful hands of artisans. This balsamic is naturally dark and dense, with a 5 percent acidity content. The bal- samic is sweet with a very light pungency and an extremely thick consistency. They have tasting notes of raisins, plum and some smoothness from oak barrels. It pairs well with any fine cheese or fruit, and finishes all dishes including salads, filet mignon, seafood dishes, grilled vegetables, certain desserts, vanilla ice cream, Greek yogurt, gelato and many more. Also, it is great for salad dressings and entertaining guests. It's even delicious in drinks and seltzer water! This item comes in Traditional, Apple, Fig, Pomegranate, Pear & Cinnamon, Blu- berry and Black Cherry. Try them all! Ariston's 4-Leaf & Organic Balsamic Vinegar comes to you in a beautifully packaged box. Discover the Healthy Sweetness in The Organic Candy Factory's Gummy Bears The Organic Candy Factory, located in Los Angeles, California, was founded in 2010 by Ginger Taurek, who was five years old at the time. Her mother, Piper Cochrane, took her daughter's fantasy and made it real – and or- ganic! The company sells an alternative to "bad" candy from their "Organic Gummy Club." The company was launched at a party at Ron Robinson-Fred Segal's, one of the more popular shops in Los Angeles and fea- tured in People Magazine on the "Great Ideas" page. All of The Organic Candy Factory's prod- ucts are made with fruit pectin. They are gluten-free, gelatin-free, pesticide-free and non-GMO. There are no preservatives, corn syrup or nuts. The candies are vegan and kosher. In 2019, the company will unveil four new flavors, more sizes and some holi- day-specific items. The company takes pride in offering in- formational facts regarding the invisible dif- ference between refined white sugar and organic sugar. Refined white sugar is mostly pure sucrose, a "chemical marvel of clean- liness." In contrast, organic sugar has not been stripped of important nutritional ingre- dients. In fact, the "impurities" that are dis- carded in refined sugar are minerals – minerals the public then goes out to purchase as supple- ments because they are no longer available in many of the foods purchased. Although organic sugar is not a "health" food, The Organic Candy Factory strongly believes it is a better option than re- fined white sugar. The organic process is also significantly more eco-friendly, with healthy agricultural processes and thus a cleaner refining process. Ginger, now 13, says proudly, "Organic candy tastes better, why settle for second best? Our organic Gummy Bears are one-of- a-kind!" Through her company, Ginger wants to change the way candy is viewed. She wants to reach folks who want healthy sweets, whether they are three years old, or 103. The Organic Candy Fac- tory's Gummy Bears are not only naturally sweet to eat because of the organic sugar used to make them, they actually con- tain healthy nutrients (minerals) that candy made with non-organic sugar lack. Don't miss the delight; discover the healthy sweet- ness in Organic Gummy Bears. For more information, visit booth #5452, go to www.organiccandyfactory.com or call 310.309.7461.
