GOURMET NEWS NOVEMBER 2018 www.gourmetnews.com FROM THE EDITOR 4 Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Black Friday, Everyone! Our readers are among the blessings that our entire staff at Oser Com- munications Group, pub- lisher of Gourmet News, Kitchenware News and Snacking News, are grateful for, both at Thanksgiving and throughout the year. As we celebrate this winter's holiday season, let's also remember the folks who are still struggling with the outcomes of this year's disastrous hurri- canes. Please also remember that thoughts and prayers are very important, but they're not enough if you can also find a way to lend a hand. Over the past year, you've read about both Blackberry Patch and Sweet Grass Dairy in the pages of both Gourmet News and Kitchenware News, but you may not be aware that they're located in an area of southwest Georgia that has really been wal- loped by storms this year, most recently by Hurricane Michael, which made landfall in Florida as the worst hurricane to hit that part of the coast since records began being kept and which roared into Georgia still as a Category 2 hurricane. These events call on all of us to give of our best, and I am reminded over and over and over again how often all of you are called upon to lend a hand and how much pride you take in being involved in your communities and in lending a hand to folks who are more than just business competi- tors – they're our friends and neighbors. While we regret the realities of bad times, bad weather and hungry neighbors, it's al- ways a pleasure to share how our readers are helping to make them better. If you've got a story about how you're helping your community that you'd like to share with us and our readers, please don't hesitate to drop us a line to editor@oser.com. You won't be bragging – you'll be helping to share the joy and the blessings of community that are just as real as all the world's hurricanes and con- flagrations. In the meantime, please enjoy this month's issues of Gourmet News and Kitchenware News. Next month from Gour- met News, you'll once again be seeing our annual Buyers Guide along with our regu- lar December issue of the magazine. For Kitchenware News, once again, you'll be getting the annual Buyers Guide instead of a regular issue, and you'll see your next reg- ular issue in January. Next year, though, Kitchenware News will be changing its publication schedule, with print issues offered bimonthly on the odd- numbered months and the annual Buyers Guide once again in December. We'll con- tinue to post frequently on www.kitchen warenews.com, and the weekly Kitchen- ware Newswire will continue to go out on Wednesdays. Gourmet News will maintain its monthly print schedule, and Gourmet Newswire will continue to go out on Tues- days. If you're not currently subscribing to the electronic Newswires, you are welcome to do that at the magazine's websites: www.gourmetnews.com and www.kitchen warenews.com, where you'll get access to electronic versions of the regular print is- sues first. Blessings to you and yours!
